My friend and fellow Tw rider Larry and I are meeting at Dan's Ferry for lunch tomorrow about 12:00 and after lunch, heading over to Celebration Park to start a ride to Swan Falls Damn. Should be a mellow ride and anyone who would like to join in is welcome to show up and join in.

Swan Falls "Damn?" That's what you might say when you realize you can't ride from Celebration Park to Swan Falls Dam along the river and up the canyon. At least not legally. I wanted to make that trip once and soon found it's BLM land, closed to motor vehicles. If you've found out differently, I'm all ears as it's a ride I'd like to make.

BTW - I'm thinking of putting together a "Treasure Valley TW Riders Meet & Greet" at a local watering hole / burger joint sometime soon. Something you guys might be interested in?

Well Damn! It was closed in the middle of that area so we went up above the damn and went East. Made a 30 mile loop. It is really dry up there and the dust was intense. I am looking forward to April when Willow creek opens up for riding. That is more fun anyway.

Larry and I would be up for a get together. We are both retired so set up a time that works for the working kids.

    Happy Trails All

Indeed, the old trails that lead from Celebration Park up river to Swan Falls Dam have been closed to motorized vehicles for years and years. One can hike, ride horse, or even bicycle, but the sandy trails make riding a bike very difficult. I tried! If you don't mind to hike there are a couple cool things in the closed off part. Halverson Lakes (I'd call'em ponds, but whatever) and they are fed by a waterfall which can sometimes be seen in the spring. Another neat spot is the old hermit cabin. Somewhere I've read some historical information on the old hermit, but can't remember the story nowdays. Here's what the old hermits stone cabin looked like a few years ago when I hiked in.

Also, several miles upstream there is a rough rough 2 track road which leads down to the river. Which is where I saw this fellow. Imagine seeing a snake on the Snake River!

Anyway, awesome sights from atop the canyon rim above Swan Falls Dam. Looked like you guys had a fun ride.
Hidden Content A ride in the woods helps me relax and release tension. The fact I'm dragging a body should be entirely irrelevant?
