Good place to Ride on the east coast this winter

    Hello fellow TWers

Planing ahead a trip down south this winter to go riding. I am from Quebec Canada, our winter's pretty much have no more snow, mostly up and down weather with freezing rain... Snow snowmobiling is pretty much like playing the lottery with mother nature. To cut the winter in half, I want to go spend a few weeks down south USA on the east coast. I have North Carolina in mind, but are there any other great spots? Pretty much looking for nice scenery, back country road & trails, no snow and closest the Quebec. Thanks!

I'm off I95 exit 80 in Maryland. Don't have to many trails but we do have a lot of historical sites. Plenty of two lane back road county roads

If you're planning on western NC in the mountains, be sure to check the forecasts. Western NC gets lots of snow at elevation even though we're "in the south". Mt. Mitchell is the highest point east of the Mississippi at 6,683'. I camped there in June with snow on the ground. Lower lying areas should be fine. All is beautiful country.

The Wooly Caterpillars have a large strip and we have a bumper crop of acorns. Better drive further south then MD. Lol

It's an old timers way of telling the severity of winter. Lots of acorns and wide strips on the caterpillar means a cold and snowy winter.

Looks like there is plenty to do in the Telico Plains TN area.
