    Forgotten Trails

Have to revisit old trails every once in a while before the vegetation and my memories grow over.

I'm glad I got to ride some of that. Did you build the plank bridge or was it done by someone else?

I recently found a Youtube Channel of a fellow who does a lot of riding in Nevada County, CA. I was drawn to his channel because of some rides to mines which is something I like to ride too though you rarely find anything interesting there anymore. He's also ridden Tour of Idaho 1 (in sections), which is a big undertaking. You may enjoy his channel during your recovery.

Speaking of recovery, when are you seeing the witchdoktor for the hip work? Soon right? Good luck I'm gonna miss your riding and video's while you're recovering but it will be well worth it for you.

Hidden Content A ride in the woods helps me relax and release tension. The fact I'm dragging a body should be entirely irrelevant?

Doing well my friend, good to hear from you. Had to deal with some scary health issues with my wife but we are on the good side of that now. Hope all is well on your end.

@ Tornadoes Hit Celina on Sunday as we were on our way back from Wisconsin, 8 injuries and some major damage to the City Ball Park and Wally World area, but our side of town lucked out...same path that one took 5 years ago...we are OK on our end, and nobody seriously injured or dead...so it's all good!

Glad you’re safe Hoot. The unpredictability of these tornado storm tracks must be spooky. I’ll take occasional risk of earthquakes and wildfires over seasonal tornado risks anyday.

I’m going under the knife for a new swing arm bushing in another 13 days, so no more TWing for a bit. At least I’ll be a stronger, safer rider afterwards. The wooden walkway I built over a big ledge when I was converting a deer trail into a TWable route to get into some nice terrain. Following deer trails has shown me all the local watering holes. I’ll be hiking them for physical therapy before riding them again. Darn deer will jump over stuff that stops me cold!

Best of luck Fred, is that a hip that requires surgery?

Yes, getting a total anterior hip replacement due to a large tear of the superior labrum and significant to severe chondromalacia. Toss in some of the larger loose bodies up to 9mm in the joint space that occasionally get in the way due coupled with general degeneration secondary to osteoarthritis and my limping this last year becomes understandable. When those loose chunks were not in the way things were good, but occasionally a piece gets caught up like sand in a ball bearing and then I would squeal like that ball bearing. I think I did the major tear high siding off Betty Boop in the ice last December in a classic “Flying W” dismount with my legs forcibly separated during the ejection sequence. I have learned that ice is not nice.
