I would likely be up for Colorado in August, maybe, BUT, it would have to be as a group. I just don't have the guts to ride alone in unfamiliar woods far from support or help. Would love to hit those high trails through the woods and passes.

I have to take mandatory 40 hours vacation the first week of August. Company shutdown for one week, every year. So if I have no plan, it means trying to fill time around home here in Connecticut, where fun is mostly illegal. I'll be hitting Thomaston Dam and Pachaug State Forest frequently this summer for sure.

I do plan on getting to New Brunswick, Canada this summer. I had planned to go to a MOAB trip, but again, only within a group of people.

I tell ya, I just can't WAIT for retirement. I'm actually thinking of taking a 3-4 month unpaid leave of absence so I can actually travel and see a bit of the West.

Toolman, your mandatory vacation in August could become the catalyst to get the ball rolling.

Ogden to Moab Day 1, Moab to Durango Colorado Day 2, Durango to Breckenridge Day 3, Breckenridge to Estes Park, "Best part of Trip" Day 4, Estes Park to South Ogden over Flaming Gorge Utah Day 5.

The entire trip was freezing with some cold rain, some snow made our plan to ride on Million Dollar Highway rerouted east. So Colorado can be very cold in mountains anytime in September. I was prepared with lots of layers of gear and ELECTRIC VEST. I would go back and do it all again but August is my vote. I didn't ride off road due to friends wife didn't want to drag out ride in very cold weather.

I'm turning down a DR650 ride in Colorado ride this summer, because my son will be moving back home with me. It's very hard for me not saying Hell yeah! Let's do this with the TW. I may try and do this, but I need to get my boys in a MC safety course this summer first. Hell, if all goes right, I may be able to make it with a DR650 and a TW. I prefer the TW though.

Where would I find GPX tracks for motorcycle OHV trails in Colorado? What resource would I look for to begin investigating which trails I could string together?

I bought my GPS last year around Christmas, but really haven't gelled with it yet, even after a few hours of YouTube and reading.

I only used it to track a couple of loops that I followed others on. I want to know where to get trails I have never been on before.

Colorado not too far for me (WIsconsin). Sadly missing the Oregon ride for that reason. Anxious to hear proposed date.

Sorry TW Shell, there is no proposed date nor ride unless someone shows some initiative and makes it happen.
It could be any of you. sheep.jpg

Let us muster great hope and proclivity. Hopefully there is a high-rockies dubber that can shed some light and promise on this quest. If nothing else, maybe we could at least throw out some possible locations.
Sadly i do not have any experience riding in Colorado. Just sayin.
