A quick RR on a 4 day trip I took, over last weekend, on the little T’dub’ (TW200).
Took off from home (Wodonga, VIC area to Sofala, NSW and return).
You should come along…..
Across the Hume on the punt was my first stop. Rain had already began, but as soon I stopped, it copied me.
Boat was rocking a little, there had been amazing winds over the last few days. Fortunately, it was coming from the west, and I was heading north-east.
River Road is an easy ride with a great view.
Weather was again a PITA, sometimes rainy and always windy.
I got to Jinjellic and a log-truck driver called me the coldest man in NSW. He may well have been right; it was icy.
I got to Tumbarumba, and got a coffee mainly to hold onto the cup!
It was raining good and proper now.
Even had some hail.
Every now and again, the weather would turn nice, but it never lasted long.
Looks to be a great adventure Rob, where's your usual riding partner? I still have memories of dealing with wind and rain day after day when on the road. Guess in your part of the world as we move towards Winter, you get to dry-off. So when we are shoveling snow, we can count on you to provide us with 'ride reports'.
Like your rear tire. Did you also extend your swing-arm? Kind of looks like you may have. Great pictures of some real pretty country. Thanks, and stay in touch. Gerry
Great pics! Looks like that gnarly rear tire and elephant ears for your hands were needed for that adventure. Fun reading your Aussie words and terms. Thanks for sharing your adventure with us!
Awesome! I'm convinced Australia is the greatest country in the world for dual-sport opportunities. I'm definitely going there on vacation some day to do some quality dirt bike camping!
Amazing ride report as usual. I just love the scenery and makes for some great riding I'm sure. Thought the Cricket Match and accompanying figures are too funny. Someone has a great imagination. TW looks at home on this trip. Thanks for sharing.
For the locals, I was on the eastern side of River Road, east of Jingellic.
Then, I was almost home. Took mainly tar for the final 150ks.
That’s all folks.
Information you probably don’t care about:
Trip was cheap, and awesome (If I didn’t drink, cost less than $250).
Jeez, spring is a brilliant time for looking around.
Bike needed nothing adjusted or any maintenance. Left tyre pressures the same, didn’t even lube the chain or anything. I think it was about 1300k total.
Despite being fortunate enough to have a few days off, I want more.
