MABDR - Mid Atlantic Backcountry Discovery Route

Check this out: www.ridebdr.com. You may have to use a search engine to find this site as I sometimes get a warning that its not a private site. This route runs from TN/VA borders to NY/PA borders. CaptD.

There is a thread over at Adventure Rider under regional forums : Northeast. There will be a direct link to the BDR site without the private notification warning.

I bought the map and hope to have time to do it this summer or early fall.

Not for the route itself as mostly is in forests or country back roads. Getting to and returning home routes would be more of a concern. I would consider heading back south on Skyline Drive and The Blueridge Parkway which both have low speed limits.
