Hello, didn't make it to this year's gathering at Moab but am presently here....inspired by your posts

First time riding my 2006 T-Dub in such conditions and loving it. Still working on the correct PSI and technique for the deep loose sand but it's getting better! Here's some pics from when I rode the Monitor-Merrimac OHV Loop (big stretch of loose sand is part of the fun). Oh, and some photos of Shaffer's Trail ....

Awesome shots. Great place to ride with or without the group!

Hidden Content A ride in the woods helps me relax and release tension. The fact I'm dragging a body should be entirely irrelevant?

The picture of the crashed TW was me. After one of the rain storms I rode the TW over to see the Japaneese internment camp. I was bombing down the road and hit a wet spot. Down I went! I am still finding scrape spots on the bike and my gear. I can tell you it was not as soft a landing as the picture.

This likely looks all too familiar to many of us. Great series of pictures, thanks for sharing.sand_8808.jpg

Is it better to ride slowly through sand or faster? I have been told to not sit down, bend knees, weight back, and ride faster to "float" the front tire so it doesn't plow in. Not brave enough to test this theory.

    Yep, that's the method.
    1st John 1:9
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

    John 3:16
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

    John 3:17
For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

I would add, hold the bars lightly by the grips. Let the front tire seek it's path. If you try to 'steer' the bike with the bars, the front tire can dig in and understeer, causing the bike to go down.
