    Oatman

Glad to see so many burros still in town.
Nice ride (288 miles), but way too many bikes in town (River Run)...difficult for friend and I to find a place to park.
We walked both sides of the road, but purchased no trinkets.
Friend (Vrod) wanted to go to Laughlin and had not seen Oatman.
    We skipped Laughlin.

6,818 miles on the CB1100 since Nov 7.

Weather permitting, Jacob Lake on Monday....a get away from it all my type of ride.

We drove up to Oatman a couple years ago. The thing I didn't like is that while trying to eat lunch there was some ass begging and raising heck at the door. He only shut up after the lady gave him his saltine crackers.

Hungry? They are bottomless pits. lol. It is an interesting place. They wander off into the desert at night and come to town when the tourists start rolling in. They are the same way on the wildlife loop in the Black Hills of SD. We were one of the first vehicles down there one morning and here they come hauling tail out of the hills and down to the road. They were running full tilt and never stopped for cars. They just came blasting out onto the road ready for handouts. Crazy lazy things will lean on your vehicle and scratch their heads on your mirrors!

The couple dozen or so in town were very docile, but maybe they had already been fed their fill; although I did not see any stores selling bunches of carrots to feed them. Maybe the BLM put a stop to feeding...at least the BLM has not rounded them up...yet.

Wild horses around Cold Creek are more pushy...need to be careful about them stepping on toes or nibbling on boots!

We took carrots but one of the shop owners said they discouraged it and traded and gave us some of their more natural nuggets. She said it was a sort of compressed hay mixture or something that was more like what they would normally eat. I dont know if they would round that crew up, they are probably bringing 100's of thousands of dollars to Oatman.

Dont take your dog up there. We have a couple small dogs and couldnt leave them in the car so we carried them but they will try to attack you and the dog. They consider it a coyote and are used to kicking to defend themselves in the desert. A big dog on a leash is out of the question.
