    Night Riding

Too hot for daytime riding so doing some cool night riding. LED lighting sure helps identify problems and solutions. The first half of video was a shortcut I assured Adam was likely too rocky to get rutted. A couple miles of rocky road saved us several miles of dried mud ruts and even more rocks

Excellent video Fred, looks like you had a great ride. You can clearly see the difference between the led and incandescent bulbs. A few years back a friend and I did some trails in the dark before sunrise, the darkness adds a whole new dimension, even to familiar trails.
    Thanks for sharing

I'm sort of surprised the camera can capture acceptable low light imagery.
The KLX's yellowish OEM halogen headlight has a crisp cut-off for courteous operation on public roads. The cut-off dances around a bit in response to trail irregularities and is a little distracting as the movement attracts one's eye to the light/dark boundary. My LEDs however tend to cast light broadly without the sharp illuminated margins. Light up the world, right?
My other TW has some auxilliary 4D fisheye pods that cast very crisp square puddles of brilliance. It's weaker LED H4 bulb only pumps out about 3,500 lumens but those pods really light things up. Next evening ride I'll take that bike since the Ex-Gizmo bike's long travel suspension soaks up those rocks and ruts much better affording a safer or faster ride. Sometimes both.

The first time I rode with LEDs at night I was Amazed!
While they did not shine as far as the Halogen lights, the spread of light was beyond belief.
It was a whole new riding experience.

Nightfall seems to keep the speeds down. So does the ruts. Looks comfortable knowing how hot it is.
Hidden Content A ride in the woods helps me relax and release tension. The fact I'm dragging a body should be entirely irrelevant?

Admiral, you've been out in the Black Hills out of touch!
That video was the return leg of Adam-in-Nevada's birthday ride aboard his almost new KLX250. We were pretty baked that day so we headed for the single tracks you have ridden when here. Re-run time.
