    Pine Barrens 500, October 26-27-28, 2018

Scotty/Jersey Jeeper sent me this link earlier in the day. Ironically there are 3 kinda popular rides that I like this particular weekend: a Fall version of the Greenridge down in Western Maryland/West Virginia, the Celtic Motorcycle Club's (gotta Da Bronx) Fall Foliage Run, and the PB500 which is a three (3) or less day event depending on how much you want to do. I'm about 99% committed to the PB500 right now and looking forward to all 3 days. Make that 4 because I'll arrive the day before, Thursday, Oct. 25. There are a couple of interesting seminars that evening including one on GPS routing.

    Here's that main link:

Here's the link to the conversation of Adv. Rider:
    https://advrider.com/f/threads/2018-...27-28.1322073/

It’s about 7 pages long as of today but a quick read including places to stay, etc.

Looks like a lot of heavy-weight bikes to help pick-up along the road, HaHa.
I think as of now we’ll have one TW (me), two xt225’s, one xt250.
Scotts back is kinda out so not sure he will participate but will visit us.

Trying to decide whether to book a motel room, camp or bring my friends home-made Toy Hauler at this point. If anyone is interested in joining us shout out.
As said above you can do any combination of days you want. From what I have read it seems Saturday is the longest haul of miles, about 7-8 hours of riding. Sounds cool!

Rick/Top Pred, if this sounds appealing to you let me know. You and I are probably just as far distance from the Pine Barrens (you in Maryland, me north of NYC) as each other. It’s a 2-2.5 hour drive for me. Maybe a bit longer if I bring the trailer and 2 bikes.
Let me know and reach out to Dave and DR Bob too.
    Anyone else interested... shout out.

If I can make I would be interested in camping. What’s the availability on campgrounds and hotels? How close are they to the starting line?

We are looking at Turtle Run in Egg Harbor City. It's a 20 minute pavement run to the starting point and rider meeting at 8:00am each morning.
But it's also the campground we use for the off-road sidecar event "Jersey Devil Hunt. The owners are very motorcycle friendly. There is electric available at each campground. Have to walk a couple minutes to restrooms. Last Spring when I attended the JDH I opted for one of their rental trailer/RV's because it just rained and rain and rained. No sense pitching a tent in that.
They usually provide us with an open field away from most of the regular families and weekenders so making noise or playing music at night is not a big deal.
If we have enough they will cook a breakfast for us, usually about $10.00 each all-you-can-eat. looks like the lunches are provided via your registration and the PB500 event planners. Plus one evening meal. So really we won't be doing much of any camp cooking on-site. Great seafood restaurants nearby. Call you in a few.

Here's the link to Turtle Run Campground which will be HQ for our group. Overnight is $10.00 per head. We have plenty of firewood.
33 degrees this morning in Egg Harbor City according to the cell phone in my warm hands.

Want to actually do some camping and/or even day riding, come down and join us. Don't be a "Laptop Adventure Rider", HaHa.

I think there are a few single day spots still open for anyone that is interested. You'd have to check the PB500 website listed in the very first post.

Looks like 5, maybe six in our group.
