    Ride and shoot 3

    October 26, 27, 28, 29. Arrive the 26th, ride the 27th and 28th depart the 29th.
For those members that missed the first two "Ride and Shoots", congratulations on your common sense. For the rest of you this will be an easy 60 miles of logging roads ending at an abandoned mine on the shore of Shasta lake. The area that we will be riding will be void of the natural environmental rejuvenation processes that has been occurring in the forests of California.

Bring what ever gun you can be safe and responsible with. We will set up some targets in the area of the mine and have at it. Targets drug behind a TW could be popular. The opportunity to shoot some different and interesting guns will present itself. There will also be a Rock Throwing contest. Sue is the odds on favorite. Participants are welcome to choose a gift from the notorious camping gift box. There is a new rule concerning the gift box. Once you chose an item from the box, you can't put it back! That's the rule. No exceptions. Being near Halloween I think a pumpkin target may be appropriate.

Directions to the McCloud Bridge Campground.
    1) Redding, Calif. North on Interstate 5 for 28 miles.
    2) Freeway Exit 698, Gilmen Rd.
3)Follow Gilmen Rd. For 28 miles.
    4) cross McCloud Bridge and Taa Daa your there.

There is no electricity or reservations. There is water, pit toilets and an occasional bear. The camp is directly on the lake shore with excellent fishing. It is a fee camp ground.

    McCloud Bridge Campground
McCloud Bridge Campground is located far up the McCloud River Arm of Shasta Lake in the Shasta-Trinity National Forest. Those who make the drive out to McCloud Bridge know that they will be rewarded with a beautiful, quiet setting and great shoreline fishing, especially for brown trout. The nearest boat launch ramp is 8 miles to the south at Hirz Bay.

McCloud Bridge Campground has 14 campsites which can accommodate small RVs, trailers, and tents. Three of the sites are doubles. All campsites are first come, first served. The campground is on the site of an old ranch, surrounded by fruit trees, berries and sweet peas. Some of the most scenic sites are on the lake/river side of the campground. Even when the lake levels drop, the campers enjoy river-side camping.

Wish we could go! Unfortunately the timing just isn't in our favor..
Once The Admiral is officially retired and becomes my stay at home wife we should be able to attend more gatherings.. He's promised to do all the wifely duties and when I come home from my grueling work week he'll have the camper loaded with the motorcycles, gas, food and clean clothes and all I'll have to do is jump in the truck with just a smile on and off we'll go.. giggle

Husband, she meant stay at home husband. Forum must have some ill conceived "auto-correct" feature and Mrs. Admiral didn't proof the post. Husbandly duties!!!
Hidden Content A ride in the woods helps me relax and release tension. The fact I'm dragging a body should be entirely irrelevant?

    BANG! bang.jpg

I am a maybe. May need to take wife to San Francisco that weekend to vote in run-off presidential election of her former homeland where voting is a requirement rather than a privilege.

While our politics are rich in character assassinations there they occasionally have more traditional assassinations. Her conservative candidate is recovering from being brutally stabbed at a political rally by a buddy of the former socialist president who is currently in jail for corruption. Country is on cusp of deciding whether to return to the rule of law or continue socialist policy buying votes with deficit spending giveaways and permitting ongoing lawlessness. So this election seems important.

I have a few 22 target pistols that haven't seen daylight in few years. I'll be arriving some time Friday with the party pod and black widow.

If you jump in the truck with JUST a smile on - I don't think you two will be pulling out of the driveway for a little (or long) while!
