I met up with a friend of mine from Yuma, AZ today and we rode to the Oatman family massacre site and also the gravesite. Here is a short blog that Sherm put together of our ride. I hope you enjoy it.

Interesting trip. I don't see it in the pics so is the river even a problem if you come in from the 8 side?

As to Olive and her siblings:

I have "The Books" and have been to some of the other places associated with them, but never have been to the site of the massacre.

    Thanks for that.

I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.

Powdercoated '87 frame, extended swingarm, YZ fork legs, ATV tire, 14/55, XT350 tank, spliced quick-release seat, disc brake conversion, beeg headlight, beeger rack, Lizrdcooler, Lizrdventz and bunch of other stuff all covered in invisible ink.

I've been through Oatman many times, thanks for that.
Only a fool would attempt it, and God help me, I am that fool!

The river was pretty dry except for some mud here and there. All of this is accessible from the 8 side if you know exactly where it is. Some of our directions weren't really too helpful, but we did eventually reach the intended destinations. Of course if either of us would learn how to work our little Garmin GPS's it might also help.

In realty, the roads were mostly flat and well graded. A passenger car would get you there just fine.

    Another good one enjoyed much.

Wish it didn't get hot down yonder so we could continue to see your blog ride reports!
Hidden Content A ride in the woods helps me relax and release tension. The fact I'm dragging a body should be entirely irrelevant?
