    Hey everyone,

This is Justin's and I's first ride on a motorcycle which happens to be a 1987 TW200.

We're just puttin' around in my dad's back yard

It's super boring to what most of you all do but, thought I'd share anyways.

For some reason it starts half way through. . .? Just restart it if you want.

Congrats on your first ride............ It's a blast right..(o;.

Can I give you some helpful hints.

Who was the young lady in the blue shirt........ Listen to her, she seems to know what she is talking about.

You seem to have good natural balance.. Nice overall control.

You guys did a good thing by wearing a helmet.

I'm not sure how hot it was that day but if you can stand the heat then "PLEASE" wear long protective pants and good sturdy boots and gloves while riding.

    Practice starts and stops.

The world is full of crazy drivers so last but not least"watch" out for dummies.......... Have fun and I hope I didn't come across as preachy....

I've been riding since 1966 and have logged over 200,000 miles... OMM.

+1 on congrats. Caution, motorcycles become a way of life.........most non riders don't understand.

I was happy to see a helmet, concerned to see shorts.

Sounds lame but bare skin will lose everytime to steel, rocks and tarmac. Even just jeans is better. Hard to get good tats on scar tissue you know.

Same goes for your hands, any leather will do.

How awesome an experience, first ride!

You'll love riding. You won't be wearing shorts again after your first leg burn or when a bee decides to fly up and sting you. Good boots are a must once you start riding challenging trails, your feet are quite vunerable to rocks, branches, etc... Enjoy the bike, great one to learn on.

I'm the one in the blue shirt. I also agree 110% about the rest of the safety gear. I want to do everything to minimize my risk as a motorcyclist. Ignorance and impatience is no excuse but, we were very impatient as we had the bike for a week trying to fix a fuel delivery problem. Justin (my loveing boyfriend) is in the first half and I (the keeper of keys) am in the second half. We were wearing a dirt bike helmet and a back skid plate and I didn't feel safe without the skid plate on. . . I can only imagine how much safer I'll feel with the rest of my safety gear. Thankfully I don't have to learn first hand on the horrible outcomes when skin meets asphalt, rocks, shells, soft pillows, to know safety is a must. (:

I know think your anywhere near "preachy". Just trying to help the rest of us stay safe.

    Thinking about next ride,

    Charlana

Keep riding friends you're doing fine. Remember to wear protective gear, ride within your limits and don't spill your beer. If you spill your beer your gonna have a bad time. Happy trails!
