SW Utah the next 220 miles after B-dub's tour

Well, the story goes on after I parked my truck at B-dub's.
He helped me get packed up and rolling down the road about an hour or so before dark Saturday.
    IMG_3423.JPG
I head up the road toward Zion, left turn at Kolob Terrace Road in Virgin.
My thoughts earlier in the day was to camp at the stream coming down from high on the mountain.
Upon reaching that area, it was pretty crowded, not my cup of tea.
I do this 4x4 and Dual Sport thing to get away from that kind of thing.
Mosey on up the road, Sunset Canyon Ranch is on the right, I go another 1/2 mile and see a nice pull off area.
Well look at that a small dirt road, very little use and it goes out about 100 yards from the road.
    Perfect, I'm on it.
    IMG_3426.JPG
Camp is set up and dinner is boiling, Cup of Noodles, yummm.
I have a Kindle my wife got me for my trips, I'm reading about a guy from S.A. that travels to 26 countries on a 1947 Indian, in the 50's.
Well, B-dub wore me out, it's only 7pm and I'm having trouble with eyelids.
    IMG_3429.JPG
The morning is finally here, I'm up and fire is going an hour before daylight, ( did I miss something here ) ( sleep in? )
    IMG_3432.JPG
    Ahhhhh, where's my coffee?
    IMG_3435.JPG
Peaches & Oatmeal is breakfast and I get all packed as the sun peeks over the mountain tops.

I fire up the TW and let it warm for a couple or three minutes.

I don't think I have the words to describe how awesome it looks in this area.

The road doesn't have too much traffic and good thing, I'm Moseying up the road.

I make it to the flat area way up high, and soon a truck with a float boat of some kind passes me, I know he's heading to Kolob.
When I get up there, he's all by himself on the lake, except for some crazy ducks, that water has to be maybe 33 degrees.
I take a couple pics and keep Moseying, it's too darn cold.
    IMG_3460.JPG
Wow, Moseying takes a long time, I'm getting hungry, find sunlight, park, open lunch.
    mmmmmmmmmmmmmm
    IMG_3461.JPG

Let me think, in all the miles I've traveled today, yep, only two vehicles on the road at the same time as I'm Moseying.

Let me see, the road has a few ruts, a few frozen areas, but for the most part is smoooooooth.
    IMG_3462.JPGIMG_3465.JPG
Well, I'm pretty cold, being a So. Nv boy for a long time, blood thinners don't help,
I come out above Cedar City and I'm in the sunlight, feeling better already.

It's Sunday morning still, I head for Parowan, my wife lives there.
Timeout for the day, I take her to dinner, shopping and watch the first 3 episodes of the Following, with Kevin Bacon
Man that show gives my the creeps.

    Hope you aren't getting bored.
I opted to stay at 6000' for more miles, then to go to 9300' and freeze again.
I take the old 91 highway to Cedar and the 56 I think to Enterprise.
The road is just two lane, I run about 45 mph and watch for traffic.
    IMG_3469.JPGIMG_3470.JPG
After leaving Enterprise and heading past the next picture, oops, turn around, snag a pic and off again
    This one's for B-dub
    IMG_3471.JPG
It's starting to get warmer now, I'm getting close to Pine Valley area and Snow Canyon is just a bit ahead.

I'm going to the next post to put up the last pics together.

I pull in to B-dub's about noon, knock on the door, his wife answers and kindly tells me he's at work.
I had Monday off, " Thank you Veterans ", but he didn't.
We talk about B-dub's love of the desert and hunting and ( did I mention he has a Samurai )his and my offroad contraptions.
After a nice time talking, it's time to head home.
What a wonderful 320 miles on my TW, with BW, in SW Utah.

Great ride report, Mark. I enjoyed the pictures, thanks for the shot of the windmill. More snow on top than I thought there would be, but I guess it is November. Beautiful sunrise, you picked an awesome campsite for that. Quite an adventure, you're getting maximum fun from your "mini" vacations. That is a great way to leverage your time off. Thanks for taking us along!

Hidden Content A ride in the woods helps me relax and release tension. The fact I'm dragging a body should be entirely irrelevant?
