    Hi!

Went for a quick ride out this afternoon, only about 35 miles.

I thought you might like to see the 'lie of the land' around Wiltshire.

Very muddy today and lots of ruts, difficult with the TW's pegs being so low.

    Modification needed?

By my way of thinking thats tricky riding (deep ruts with slickness). One strategy is to stay out of them, but then you are widening the path and leaving new tracks. Thats open country if the farmer's gates don't box you in. Ride carefully. Tom

    'Tricky' sums it up well.

I think the bike needs a rail under the engine that will bounce me off the side of the ruts before the brake/gear lever dig in.

Some off the ancient and best routes know as the Ridgeway have been closed due to damage.

A lot of the lanes have serious rutting caused by 4x4 and tractor, this can make the going very challenging.

The lanes go through farmers land so you have to stay on them.

There is a large military training ground much further south, hopefully try it soon.

Nice photo's. It's funny how small snapshots from halfway around the world can look so similiar in other counties. Another similiarity could be the wire fences and green gates (or at least I think your gate is green, I may be colour blind). Here's a version of us going out the gate near our place, green gate and all.

Thanks for shareing some photo's of a land I've never been too!

Hidden Content A ride in the woods helps me relax and release tension. The fact I'm dragging a body should be entirely irrelevant?
