    Wtb: left case cover

Wtb to buy th, left side lower engine case cover. The one with the two timing holes. Previous owner hammered on mine until it cracked and now seeps oil. No ideal why he thought that was a good idea.... Egg shaped the top timing setting hole....

    Hi George,

Finding these side covers can be difficult at times. It will also depend upon the year of your bike. I believe that there are three different side covers due to the different electrical systems/stators. These are:

    Model year 1987
    Model years 1988-2000
    Model years 2001- Present

Each one of these designs will bolt right up to any bike in the range listed for that design. Side covers from a different range can be made to work on any year but will require additional mods including stator/flywheel/wiring harness/connectors/etc. - possible, but not very practical for most of us.

    Hope this helps.

    Brian

Hi George, try JB weld. Mine hit a rock the day before my ricochet plate arrived. The case cracked and dripped one drop of oil overnight. Laid the bike on its side, sanded, brake cleaned and then JB welded. Put a piece of packing tape over the epoxy while it cures so it won't sag and you won't have to sand.

Mine has held for hundreds of miles now. The ricochet plate won't let it happen again.

    Hope this is helpful.
