    For Sale: 1993 Project Bike

I have a 1993 TW200 that I bought about a year ago with the hopes of making a project out of. I've finally come to the realization that I don't really like working on things/tinkering.....so I'm thinking I'll let this one go to someone with the proper skillset.

    The Good:
    1993 TW200 in the white/blue/yellow/red colorway
Tank is clean with no dents and great decals/logos. Inside has been treated with the Yamaha rust treatment but there is some visual corrosion.
    New bars, grips, fork boots.
New Intake boot and air filter element/seal
    New petcock and fuel lines
    New battery
All plastics are intact and in great shape. Nothing missing or broken.
All lights work as they should.
    Electric and kick start.
Seat is in great shape, no tears or anything like that.
    Carb is freshly rebuilt.
It's currently completely built/intact. Nothing is missing. It just needs someone to get it running and start tickering with it.

    The Bad:
In the time I've owned it I've only heard it run a few times. It sounded great but I can't really know what kind of shape the motor is in.
Bill of sale only.....though it has long ago fallen out of the CA DMV system.
The kickstand mechanism needs work. There's a cracked piece there that prevents the spring from mounting/holding up the stand properly.

Anyone interested in taking it on? I'm in Orange County, CA.

    $750?

Sounds like more good than bad with your machine mechanically speaking. The lack of Ca DMV compliance might force an out of state sale as last DMV bulletins I read said DMV insists on payment of all back registration fees plus penalties and interest unless annual declarations of non-operation have been filed in a timely fashion. Even so I have heard they will not issue a title release for out of state re-registration unless all fees are paid up to date. I know of someone w/ an AC Cobra replica in similar bureaucratic limbo.
Hopefully I mis-read fine print and the buyer does not inherit this liability. California has unfortunately raised all its taxes, user fees and penalties in attempt to lessen fiscal woes.
If it were with clean title and running well ( Seafoam it and ride it a bit first) I would ask $1500 and see what happens.

Whoever buys it should just register it in Vermont. I have done it for a couple of bikes then switch it back. I know it works. I bought an old bike in Hawaii. Haven't been registered and he didn't have the title in over 10 yrs. So I mailed all the paperwork to Vermont. And I got the reg in the mail then took it to my local Hawaii Dmv and told them I shipped the bike from Vermont. So basic. Vermont will title anything!!

Thanks, Supertrooper. I'll pass on info to Cobra owner, it'll make his day so much brighter.
