Never did understand the purpose of a reserve price.
It has to be the "starting price" after all - just some kind of a "secret" ...........

People are more likely to bid on a lower price. Once the bidding starts people can get caught up in it. But in case it doesnt you have the reserve to save your ass.

Reserve does Not have to be starting price. I list everything at $.99 cents to start. Set reserve at whatever the minimum you'll sell item for. This starts biding low. The more bids there is, kinda tricks people thinking wow, look at all the action this item is getting. Must be good. It's an old sales trick. And yes, it works....
