    Need opinion please

Found a 2004 tw200 only about an hour from me. I have not seen it but looks great condition and he says runs great and looks perfect (like new), only used camping and a little on the road (he did have it plated and registered). He is asking $2,300 obo which seems a little high for 7 years old but it only has 350 miles on it.

I guess my fear is after 1 summer if I put on 2,000 miles then it is back to average bike for its age and worth $1,000, maybe that doesnt matter im not really looking for an investment but I like to buy and sell stuff and get decent deals.

Or is a 7 year old bike that has been sitting still age the same or maybe worse anyways so the value still should fall?

Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks
Just got TW200 4/2/11! First bike I have owned capable of hitting dirt/trails

I would probably buy it at that price. You can always try to haggle a little too, that is his asking price and you may get it a little cheaper. These little bikes hold their value well and I dont think it would lose too much value over another 2k miles. Just look at the e-bay prices and the prices on craigslist and you will be surprised.

Just for reference, I bought a 2000 about 2 months ago with 98 miles on it. I wanted the kick start (last year for it) and that color combination (just like blue/white combos). I paid $2500 and it was about a 5 hour drive both ways. I was (and am) very happy with it. I'm at about 460 miles now.

The prices down your way seem good to me. I live in Alberta Canada and guys are asking:

    $3500 for 2004.

    $4000 for 2008.

    $3900 for 2003.

These are stock bikes. No extras. I just paid $2000 for a 1995 with 5700 km. on it.

I just got tired of looking and considering

where to buy and what year and price.
