    Hey Bootz,

Take a look at the picture below. The top one is a stock TW200 output shaft. The middle one is a modified TW200 output shaft. The bottom one is a stock XT/TTR225 output shaft.

The modifications to the stock TW200 shaft involve grinding an additional circlip groove and the fabrication of the spacer/washer shown on the center image below.

If this is a job that you would like to try and tackle, I could send you the above XT/TTR225 shaft and the modified TW200 shaft that you could take the actual measurements from.

Let me know if you are interested in doing this,

    Thanks,

    Brian

I remember seeing that old thread somewhere too. I'd love two of these as well, but if not, i'd take someone that could modify one.

I have amassed an xt225 and a ttr225, no idea on the running condition, haven't got that far yet. Figured i'd need to rebuild them anyway.

I could cut that Grove no prob. Assuming the hardining dint get to hard or deep. Not that I still couldn't, just a little more PTA

If you could send a spacer.....or the dimensions. If the spacer is what I think it is, it should be no biggie

With that "adaptor". I could build most of it,. But the splines on the inside....hmmm. Not sure we even have a tool to do that. Man I wish I could talk my boss onto a edm machine...then we would be in the adaptor business

Has anybody actually checked the hardness of the XT or TW OEM shafts? I won't have access to a tester for a week or two

My machinist is A) busy as hell and 2) celebrating summer and his 30th anniversary so it will be next week before I can face to face meet re the projects of the extensions and cutting the new grooves and making the spacer washer. I'm hoping we can find an off the shelf washer with at least the ID close (or some DOM tube etc) so they would be easier to make. I've always found July and especially August to be dead months for getting business done but I'll be working on it

the originals were $300 each but I still don't have the final numbers from my machinist but rest assured I'll post here when I do I think we will know in a few weeks

If you factor in the time and labor to remove output shafts from two motors, modify and raplace the output shaft I think this is still a better way to go at least for me and the XT motor can always be used in an XT or TTR again if desired
