FS: 2006 offroader tdub - Southern Wisconsin

Well, after several years and several thousand miles I am willing to part with my T Dub.

I still love this bike but finally coming to terms with the fact that I only get to do the type of riding it is best at about once a year and need something less offroad and more backroads.

New top end with 150 miles on it. Running well and always enjoyed it when I could take it out to a good offroad spot, but the reality is I rarely get to do that. What I really have access to is a lot of twisty 50 to 60 MPH wisconsin letter roads.

Listed on craigs and FB for $3K cause those sites are a pain in the ass, but willing to sell for $2,500 obo for a forum member.

    Hey, herseyb...
Sorry to hear you are getting out of the TW game, but it sounds like you have a good Plan B!
Just curious, what are "...wisconsin letter roads..."?

Wisconsin has had to much beer and cheese.....when they named most of their county roads they simply only used a letter. You need to look at getting perhaps a CB500X that has the power for LETTER roads and back roads.

Jeepster has it - it is the only state to use this system. Also, since each county uses letters, you can be on County A and cross a county line and suddenly be on County W for that county! Plus they don't tell you WHAT county you are in, so unless you already know where you are at, you might not even be on the road you think you are, or be able to find yourself on a map. It is a goofy system.

That said, one of the best pieces of wisconsin motorcycling advice I have gotten is: if you're on an expressway, get off and do a state route, if you're on a state route, turn off onto a letter route, which is basically true for everything except perhaps 131 up along the kickapoo river.

I am thinking of trying out the RE himalayan, and GS310G and Versys 300x once I get my cash up. I have a K1100RT for a highway bike, so I am just looking for something that I can cruise around 50 MPH in comfort for half a day.

I swear I saw lettered roads in other areas along route 66 on my last trip all back around Iowa, Illinois, Indiana etc

Well my T-Dub is gone. It served wonderfully when I could get it out to the woods. The new owner ripped a big fat wheelie down the block and I think will be happy with it.

I traded even up for this '98 sportster sport.

    Thanks tw200forum, you've been excellent!

Lived up between Wausau and Merrill back in the late 70s...out in the sticks, on the Lincoln/Marathon County Line...

The back roads, especially in the Northwoods are almost all dirt and the cross roads have NO stop signs, let alone 4 way stops....you take your like in your hands, especially on a motorcycle....crazy drivers...the southern part of the state is a bit better....
