    Lost thrust cover

Hi guys, I have my shock off to adjust the spring preload and "misplaced" one of the thrust covers for the lower shock mount. Anyone have a spare that you would part with? Thanks.

    Hey Joe,

They are on their way to you via Priority Mail - should be delivered Wednesday, 9/18.
(I sent you two of them just in case you get fumble-fingered and misplace one of them )

It is basically a $10.00 washer that goes on each side of the bottom of the rear shock between the shock and the shock mount on the swingarm. It is overmolded with some plastic which appears to be intended to keep dirt out and/or lubrication in. At least that's my guess.

How do you adjust the preload on the rear shock? Spacers?

The shock has three groves that are for a wire clip that will give a different spring length. This does not do a lot so I will also add a spacer. Just experimenting. But not with poison oak !!
