I am about to purchase my first motorcycle and it is going to be a TW 200 if everything goes according to plan. I am just curious about the 0 to 30mph time for the bike and how fast it can go off a stoplight.

I would imagine there is already a topic on this but I couldn't find one.

I am totally guessing, but I'd imagine 0-30 is in the neighborhood of 3.5-4 seconds if you can get out of first quickly. Sometimes you can take off from 2nd with this bike since 1st is so low, but it'll obviously bog a little. It's no speed demon, but it's nimble enough to handle city traffic just fine.

I guess, in short, it's quick enough to get out of its own way if you know what you're doing, but not quick enough to get out of others' way if you tried the interstate.

First gear is very short if you know what i mean. Didn't take me long to learn how to speed shift

through the first 3 gears. Once i mastered that it takes off from a light like any other bike.

Meaning ahead of the traffic.

i lane split to get to the front at stops & try to get out front off the stop a lot. I never have trouble getting ahead, but if someone in a small and/or fast car wanted to beat me like drag race style off the start they probably could, but no one has yet. just my experience so far.

Around town I rarely use first; I generally start-out in 2nd, especially if I'm riding a TW with stock gearing.

Their great bikes, you'll have a lot of fun on it!
