I'm looking at a really low mileage '06. It's a little newer that I wanted but at the right price I'll learn to live with the disc brakes and add the kicker. So I'm looking at a 8 hour round trip drive to get it, what do you think current value is factoring in this, Iron Pony is 20 min away and thay have a new 2012 in the crate for $3800.

I've got an idea of what I want to pay for it but I'm looking for an opinion or two first.

Thanks,

tb

If you're looking to finance, Yamaha has some good programs on new ones right now. I'm looking at a new '13 or a used '12, and the '12 has 1700 miles and the dealer's asking 3450 for it. Another dealer near me has an '07 with 2400 miles they are asking 2450 for.

Dude that is one good lookin' machine. The Blue paint is what really gets me. I started looking at older bikes that I could redo to look more like yours, but now I'm thinking I need to invest more $$ and get one more like what you have here.

That is a good looking bike, better looking than the '13 I'll probably end up with. Could someone send me a link to where I could buy one of those seat pads?

I'm taking my time for sure. I just keep stacking up $ waiting on the right deal and spending the research time learning about the bikes. I was ready to "Pounce" a couple times and it would have been a bad move.

I really like the paint on the '06 models. It matches most everything else I own.
Did they paint them that shade of blue in other years?

This is funny! Tom, I think I'm buying the 2006 your refering too in Michigan near Detroit! Was it for sale on Ebay? I looked at the bike last week, and made him an offer 2 days ago, which he accepted! I'm supposed to be picking it up today! I called him last night and left a message!

In fact, the bike in my avatar is THE bike!

Boy, I feel kinda bad now! I sure hope I didn't take it out from underneith you? I got it for $2500. I told him that it has a few issues that I will have to take care of, and hence should affect his asking price! It's the color that I like most, so I decided to make him a decent offer.

BUT, it's not MINT by any means! It's a good solid bike, with low miles, but there are a few cosmetic issues! One, it has white paint overspray from him painting a room in his house where he kept it inside for the winter! I thought to myself, WTF! I almost walked away because of that. But I have friend who is a painter, and he said it will be no problem cleaning that up! He has a product he says will clean it right off! The front fender is scraped up, and he said it was from something in the garage that fell on it and scraped the plastic.

Anyway, like I said it's a solid bike, but I'm a neat freak, and I will be CLEANING it up to my standards, replacing the front fender, and maybe a few other little things!
