I have to say, this guy is a damn good salesman, and that's something you'll hear from me almost never. He (apparently) isn't full of shit and doesn't talk out of his ass or blow smoke. He knows what he's talking about and knows what people in this market segment are going to want. The way he demonstrates the features is spot on for the target audience. If the company doesn't fail prematurely on the financial/business side of things, I think this truck could become quite popular. The biggest hindrance to long-term success is obviously going to be the exclusivity based on price (an optioned-out, mid-level R1T is going to probably cost as much as a similarly-kitted 3,500 HD, and that could definitely be a problem for the intended market, so we'll see...). The price might not kill it as bad as one might think, though, because I think (as the representative says) it may draw some people in from other market segments (luxury-SUV guys, celebrities/rappers/drug dealers [lol...], tech guys with some money, people who just want to be different, etc.).

On a side note, I don't think I've ever seen the SUV before; I might just go for that over the pickup, myself.

Anyway, here it is:

Ford Motor Co. apparently on board with Rivian...

And Amazon (who knows how much...):

I wonder if Ford is just throwing a jab at Tesla and hoping that company's sales won't be able to keep it afloat as the industry progresses. I don't think that would happen, as Tesla is quite well established --basically already a household name at this point. Also, Tesla is already in the every-man's-car market, which bodes quite well for the company IMO. Luxury, performance, off road capability, etc. are great, but something the masses want or need...?
