A GOOD TIME TO BE HAD BY ALL
.......... SEE YOU THERE..........
I have no association with the production of
the GOTG rally.
I just think it's a lot of fun..
The campground is run by some great people.
Mike is absolutely right about that. The owners of the campground are absolutely phenomenal hosts and set the standards by which "Pure Southern Hospitality" should be judged.
Most sincere and down to earth couple anyone could meet, anywhere!
The poll needs a maybe option. If I'm already close by for work, I'll show up. If I'm more than a couple hours away, I won't. But I don't know where I'll be yet.
Hrm. I want to do this but I really don't like riding the TW on the pavement very much. Have a rough idea what the paved vs dirt ratio is on this ride?
The Friday ride we had, I'd say it was around 60/40 or 70/30 paved/off-road. That Saturday was mostly a wash out, but we got a few hours in, but was mostly pavement since we went to the top of Roan Mtn to see the views. But is was cold & foggy, so there was no viewing.
Still never really got a definitive answer from anyone (even locals) on how much off-road was available in the area. Obviously, we didn't cover all the off-road there is to do, and sure had we had most of Saturday to ride....we would've ridden some new areas. I want to look into, and see what I can find.
Ok guys and gals
The gathering is right around the corner....,
who's going ?????
Lets show the west coasters how it's done....LOL

Let's get those east coast goats on the move !!!
See ya there !! mike from NC
I'm starting to see why nobody does T-dub rides or Rally's on the east coast.....
There just doesn't seem to be much interest ...
I'm looking forward to the day I can work my way to the other coast for awhile ....
Gotta learn to ride rocks and sand sooner or later .. mike from NC
More public land to ride is what it amounts to. There are probably millions of great riding places in the east but it's all locked up with private ownership. Still, we see private ownership closing off access out here every year. ...and the feds, BLM, Forest Service doing the same thing.
I'm trying my best to learn the forest service roads around the Tellico Plains area. It may take awhile as I'm only up there a couple of months. That said when I think there's enough for a weekend I'll invite the Dub crowd to my place in Riceville. We have four acres and a spare bedroom so having some guest should not be a problem.
Sadly the Mississippi boys won’t be making the gathering either.
Hopefully Mike will take care of his chain.
If the Florida boys are not there to back him up.
LOL....., Chain serviced early this morning ....
Fingers crossed ....., mike from NC
