it depends on the dealer I have a buddy who got a quote back in September from a Ride Now in Phoenix where he thought he had inside connections but the quote came back at $7900 and they didn't have any in stock
The low side I hear is $6800 to $7200 leaning towards the $7200
I'm pretty much out of bikes now other than a 2021 I bought for myself with 121 miles and swore I'd not tell anyone I had it lol
If you are west coast and looking I can keep an eye out I pass on 9 out of 10 bikes these days but they are probably good deals for people planning to buy new
Placer,
That "Ride Now" is as you more than likely know, a corporate entity. At last count, they have 106 dealerships across America. I've never dealt with them until recently. Back about a month or so ago, I was in a search for a new 2023 Honda Monkey. They are very rare on show room floors because kind-a like TW's, they're sought out very frequently. Well, a Cycle Trader ad revealed they had a new '23 Honda Monkey IN STOCK at the Vegas store. I immediately made a call. Yep, they had one and it was not spoken for, YET!
I made sure they actually had one by having the salesman on the phone, physically go see AND TOUCH it and take pictures of it, and then send them to me. He did that, then called me back and sent the pics via text. Yep, it was in a crate and on their lot. Again, knowing they're a valuable commodity here in the Southwest, I promptly broke out my credit card and made an over-the-phone $500 deposit.
Now, the base/MSRP was $4,199 at that time. I figured add a $1,000 for paperwork, dealer prep, taxes, and destination charges. That would have brought the little Monkey to around $5,200 or so. Once it all was confirmed that my deposit was locking that little Monkey down, I then said to them, "go ahead and send me the OUT-THE-DOOR price. I'm 70 years old and damned near had a heart attack.
They wanted $SIX HUNDRED DOLLARS for DOCUMENTATION FEES! They wanted $ FOUR HUNDRED DOLLARS for DEALER PREP. They wanted $ FOUR HUNDRED DOLLARS for "BATTERY PROTECTION" because the dealer is in Las Vegas and batteries don't last long there, according to the sales person.
All in all, they wanted $6,500 for a $4,199 little Honda Monkey. How in the world can they charge $400 for "dealer prep" when the bike is fully assembled? I know, I saw it in the crate and there was nothing to assemble. And it takes a dealer what, maybe 15-20 minutes to do any and all paperwork on a new bike, and they want to charge me $600 for that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! $400 for "Battery Protection", what the hell is that???????????????????????
Well, needless to say, I demanded my deposit back and they had to do it. Albeit it took them the better part of 3 days to do it before we saw it back on our card.
Without a doubt, I will NEVER, EVER have anything to do with that corporation again. They charge all those exorbitant fees simply because they can.
A couple of days after I simmered down from that ordeal, I made a call to a small dealership in Idaho (I'm in Lake Havasu) and was quoted $5,100 OUT THE DOOR! But they don't have a date when the next one will arrive.
