Took the wife to the beach just west of here in Washington. She wanted to get out so figured that would be a good ride. I built this jeep frame up and have been putting around just fine, no problems. So we go down and poke along in the sand, hard sand, soft sand just taking it easy looking for this and that in the drift debris. We go several miles and turn around to come back I am on hard sand, take it out of 4x4 and punch it. Gets a bit sideways, but manageable when the engine sputters a bit and quits dead. Like what in the heck it with that, never has missed a beat since I put it together. Checked for the usual stuff, the way it quit I figured it starved for fuel. Checked all the plumbing to make sure nothing had come loose after laying on it a bit. Call AAA to come get us. They were hours away. Called the parts store and my Brother in law.
Got a tow off the beach which was lucky I was out of the soft stuff and the fellow was great. Towed us into town, just a short distance, but close to a restaurant as the wind was blowing and it started to snow. My bilaw showed with the tools I asked to bring and a new fuel pump. Traded it out and wala started right up and drove the 40mi back home with the wind howling and folks doing spinouts in the snow, two right in front of me.

All in all, a good day. Jeep is better for it as we weren't in some God awful place out in the middle of nowhere, had a good meal and have another story to add to adventure scrap book of the mind.

Oh yes, did call off AAA as we didn't need them.

Thank you for the nice remarks. I grew up with a 42 ford military. came across this one and picked it up last year. Had a bit of rust in the floors so I did a frame up restore. Dropped in a 350 chev engine with auto tranny as it was stock with an auto.

The stars and bumper numbers are magnetic. We use it in parades for the VFW and Rolling Thunder, a club that promotes the cause for the MIA-POW cause.
