Frequent visitors to the forum are no doubt familiar with "Admiral," a TW rider who hails from Sand Hollow, Idaho. They also have no doubt enjoyed his accounts of trips, his photos, and his frequent contributions to the forum. I am fortunate enough to have him as a friend, fellow rider, and now - "master mechanic."

I just picked up my TW today after having left it with him for a fork seal replacement. Of course he was not satisfied to simply do that... he looked over the entire bike, fixed a crack I had in the front fender, checked and adjusted my front brakes, adjusted the chain, and probably did some other stuff I'm forgetting. He also did some modifications/improvements to my receiver hitch carrier.

So... I just wanted to tell you what you probably already know... he's one heck of a great guy! Thanks buddy! I hope you have good success getting your bike painted and put back together and that we're back on the trail this summer.

Nicely done True.

What I can't figure out is how the heck an ex-Army guy that lives in Sand Hollow got the monicker of "Admiral". . . .

Thanks Truelight for the T-shirt. Like to help when I can. Now if I can only get the BLM and/or county to respond to my BLM cleanup waiver of landfill fee's!

Well Bagger, as we all know, the truth of the monicker is far from what one could imagine and quite anti-climatic, and probably boring. I'd like to consider myself a "Land Admiral", but here's the truth.

At work the supervisors decided to give everyone nicknames, based on a lot of us had the same first name and for others so they wouldn't be left without a nickname. So, because of my last name, one of the supervisors thought of the British Lord Admiral Horatio Nelson. My guess is they didn't want to use "Lord" as the nickname, so I got "Admiral". There you have it!

And I thought the nickname was based on my boating skills, but I was wrong!

My hat is off to Admiral as well. He gave me excellent tips, tricks, and advice on how to disassemble my forks. Thank you very much for your help, couldn't have done it without you.
