Love riding through the trees when the leaves are on. Lots of history back yonder with the old stone walls, old grave yards and what not. Looks like it was a very relaxing ride through the country. Thanks so much for sharing your part of the world. Good stuff!

Gerry: You can get in big trouble or shot if you tap other people's maple trees around here. Like was said, that is tubing running from tree to tree so they don't have to have buckets on every tree like you would see "traditionally" (aka the way i do it
) -- With the tubing setups you can gravity feed to a large tank at a low point from all the trees and collect all at once, or some people even have vacuum pump setups to pull it right into their sugar shacks!

Thanks for the pics! I have been riding a lot and it is great to see everything coming into bloom. Wouldn't be able to stand living somewhere that there was not discernable "seasons" like our spring/summer/fall/winter in NNY

First of all, I'm glad you didn't hit a deer!!! Secondly, love the scenery and history. I also liked the picture of the maple syrup collection system. Not living around any maples, I'd alway envisioned buckets hanging from the trees, didn't really think of a more modern setup. I enjoyed your ride report, thanks for posting up.
