hey folks. Just picked up a 94 (i think. the head badge is all f*&^%& up) tw200 non runner. Hoping to get it rolling over the next several months, but its no rush as I have other bikes and projects. I always wanted a trail bike like this for putting around and exploring trails. I mountain bike a lot and would love to have this tool to cover ground before pedaling for hours to find a trail unrideable. This bike landed in my hands for free so you know its good. the engine was taken apart about 5 years ago and the previous owner couldn't remember why. However I pulled the motor and found a broken valve stem and also what appears to be a cracked head around the valve guide. I have yet to pull the whole motor apart, but it looks to need parts and gaskets. Glad to be here and learn from others. If anyone has a lead on a good cylinder head by the way I'm all ears or I can search the bay. Thanks.

Welcome to the forum!

Can't beat that price for a TW. Post some pictures and keep us informed of your progress. I am also looking for a cylinder head, so if you find an extra one, let me know.

Have fun,

Brian

Alwood is debating selling one of two bikes he owns. One is an 87, the other an 07. Hit him up to see if he'll part it out.

the rear support for the frame extension was broken off so I spent some time making a new one. pics of that to come. Now that its apart I see more about this thing, but all in all I think it will live eventually.

I'm located in central Washington. I have no Idea where the bike came from originally. Unfortunately I didn't get a title with it so Ill have to work on that during this rebuild process. The guy I got it from was moving and couldn't find any of his titles so it may turn up. I don't mind that its a cali bike and I have a spare ducati oil cooler I may try to mount somehow. For now I just wanted to start at the bottom and work my way up.
