Got the place to myself again today, wife is visiting a friend in the hospital, knee surgery. The only issue is that it is threatening rain, so no riding today. Out to the garage! Decided to remove the AIS from the Road Star today. An ingenious system that injects air into the exhaust to help burn off any un-burnt "stuff". Fancy talk for a smog control gadget. Anyhow, the system also promotes backfiring on decel, clutters up the engine, and I just wanted to get out the tools today. Found an article on the net on how to do this common mod. My only deviation from the directions was turning my own port plugs instead of buying them. Below is a pic of the system now laying on the garage floor. Test drive when the weather permits.

I think it was a really ugly way to do what it did. Plumbing and canisters out in the open. My next mod will be re-locating the fuel pump. Another eyesore IMO.
