That was great LT! I'm surprised they didn't explain "not worth a damn" which originally was, "not worth a tinkers dam" or the "F" bomb, which, according to some, "pluck yew".

As a carpenter/cabinetmaker I like the origin of "Dead as a Door nail". Somewhere on this web there is a big list of all of these sayings and how they came to be and it is very interesting.

The common word for poop came about from the ocean shipping of manure as a fertilizer which if it got wet it could cause a disaster. It was always labeled SHIT which means Store High In Transit!
