my 05 tw 200 has 8k miles and is only ridden on the street and i beat it pretty hard. i used to race supermoto for years and love to wheelie and slide this thing around... so i am definitely hammering the clutch.
i am starting to feel the clutch slipping.. especially at speed on the highway hitting large bumps or concrete expansion joints. the bike surges due to a slipping clutch. the chain has the proper sag and the clutch is adjusted and working properly from the lever to the lower case spring/rod.
question is .. before i open her up.. is it the clutch plates or is it a worn basket that would 'surge'? the clutch works fine at normal speeds/use. .. just under heavy load it seems to slip.
is the ebc plates/springs set any good? would a simple washer mod do the trick?
yeah yeah.. i know without taking it apart its a guessing game.. but i want to have all the parts and knowledge before i take my daily commuter off the grid.
thanks!!
