Hey guys. I just thought I would post this idea I came up with for mounting a clock on the TW. I am a stickler for the time, but I didn't like the clock offerings at the auto part stores. I had an idea to mount a watch on the TW that wouldn't interfere with anything. So, I was at a local hardware store and picked up a 3/4" conduit clamp. I used some gasket material for padding and some of that heavy duty double-sided mounting tape. Then, I headed to Wal-Mart in search of a cheap watch. I found a water resistant watch for $7 that had a decent sized display, but was small enough to be out of the way. I also picked up a lock washer for the carriage bolt the clamp came with so the TW wouldn't vibrate it loose. So, here's all what I needed for the watch install:

I bolted the clamp in the middle of the handlebars in-between the mounts. I know it's below the support bar, but the angle I sit at, it wasn't a problem:

And in this picture, I tried to capture exactly what I see while I am in riding position. As you can see, the support bar doesn't block my view of the display at all:

Well, that's it. I just thought I'd post this idea for anyone looking for a way to tell the time when commuting.

Trust me, if I didn't use my bike for commuting to work, I wouldn't care. Unfortunately, I live in boring Chicago, and there is nowhere to ride a dual-sport for fun, so this bike is my commuter/grocery go-getter.

I usually just use my cell for the time but like your idea and beats having to dig out your cell to check. May have to pick up a cheapie watch next time I'm at wally mart.

my solution required 1 watch and not additional parts or tools installed like on my wrist.

as there is a electrical wire running along there, it works like a wire tie wide enough to use the watch band.

AND if you look at swatches, you might find one that matches the TW colors.

I have a waterproof Walmart watch with velcro band strapped around the master cylinder. They last about a year, the batteries go dead, and a new watch is cheaper than replacing the batteries.
