I've been thinking about putting something under the rack since there's a gap there. Have any of you seen some good ideas for boxes, tubes, pouches, etc...?

I was thinking of making something out of leather and maybe having it divided up into two 'cells' One could hold a tool roll and the other side could hold chain spray, tax&registration papers, and a flashlight...

I made a leather bag and a custom rack for one of my 2 stroke bikes last fall and it is handy to have somewhere to keep stuff.

But with the TW I want to keep the top of the rack free to store random things and empty at other times.

I just hadn't seen any photos yet of someone jamming a box or a bag under the rack and was curious if anyone has done it, and in a better way than I'm thinking of.

I'm not the typical adventure touring sort and I like to travel light, but having a better than factory tool roll would be nice as well as a rag and chain cleaner/wax. It just seemed like wasted space to me since the rack sits up off of that gray platform.

At the very least I can store my James Bond thumb tack shooter in there..

I found that an old cd player case (remember those you old guys) fit under there for those not often used items. I can probably find a photo to add to this. It holds more than you think of the emergency supply stuff. Tom

My aluminum case sets on top so I rarely see the under rack storage except when I need to open it for something.

Thanks.. That's with my phone. Now that I have the bike running I'm out wandering. I ordered a bigger pilot and main jet as well as the replacement to the shrunken airbox boot. Once those arrive, I'm going to start going exploring further away from home.

I think another good item to carry is a first aid kit after I thought about wrecking on gravel tonight
Some of the gravel they put down around here is very large and sits loosely on top of packed roads. Basically like marbles on a linoleum floor. Dirt roads would be better.
