Just heard about this last Friday from a buddy at work who is doing it.

http://www.labarstowvegas.com/

I brought it up to the S.O. as a great suggestion for a fmaily vacation i.e. should could drive the van and meet me in Barstow the first night and Vegas the second night. For some reason she didn't find that funny.

Putting it on the calendar for next year, unless I can convince her that I should take another moto vacation.

Josh are talking about riding in this event or a do it yourself ride?

I'm gunna D.I.Y. my own version of it from the house and back without a fuel stop once the 5 gallon tank is installed. My route will be more remote and will more closely follow the old Mormon Trail. Gas stops won't be much of an option, at least one night sleeping on the ground and at least two day's worth of chow to carry. No one else need make the return trip with me unless they're gluttons for punishment

Anyone sufficiently self-contained is welcome to come along, but now it will probably have to wait til spring.

I originally planned to do it with a friend who has since haa since been injured. Roughly the same plan. Let the girls have a "girl's weekend" in Vegas, then join them there.

If you can sell it to your respective S.O.'s, it could be a win/win trip for all.

Date is subject to "Mojave Rules", which can change in a heartbeat with spring rains and flashhfloods. I'm thinking end of Jan./early Feb.?

I'm itching to do it now, but I don't see a window in our schedule before it gets cold out there and I'm too much of a fragile flower fer dat. Gimme 100+F and I'll foller you anywhere, big boy
