It may be a silly question. Has anyone done this? I know that some clubs has sport/dual sport classes. I seen on another forum that they have seen the big adventure style bikes at races before. I know you cannot compete against the KTM's etc. in the normal classes but might be fun. Not looking to win but to have fun and get to ride some different stuff. I did the same thing when I blew out both knees racing BMX, so I started to race MTB to get to ride different courses and had a blast. Is the TW not worthy of getting through the woods fast enough to stay out of the way? Thanks Jim

Might be fun, an enduro/Turtle Scramble? I don't know modern venues but one would have to propose a special class, like "air-cooled" or "plated duel sport" for any serious event and be run far enough, long enough for TW endurance to factor in. A Just-for-fun race like the 24 hrs of Lemons for beater cars could be done for tw's, pit bikes, etc to weed out competition based machines and not be taken too seriously.
I recall reading some years ago of someone building a Dakar entry based on a TW. Don't know what class he raced, or even qualified, but probably was
very uncompetitive.

I knew there would be a few that would ring these little things out. I think it easier to ride a slower (Handling/power) bike fast then a faster bike slower if that makes since. Jim
