Just one of many flavors Adam-in-Nevada, Boarder255 & I experienced on last weekend's high country Camp-n-Ride. Really scenic country. While still numerous I think the wildflowers were a bit more spectacular a a week ago.

Oh, that was just a few miles along Desert Creek on our way back after a fairly longer single track linking a few drier canyons with a more desert feel, then splashing tghrough a bunch of 2-track creek crossings before the video. Next we summited 11,682 ft peak since we were in the neighborhood. ;) Long day with naps & fresh baked blueberry pie when we got back to camp.
Guess I have a few more videos I could cook up.

...here is one fresh out of the oven.
Admiral and others may recognize some of this from a previous Group Ride.
Betty Boop's 223cc 6-speed motor made things easier but her stock motor also made it up to the same summit last summer. The gang both had fuel injected bikes so they ran and sounded a bit better.

While the upper reaches are called "Mars with Wildflowers" I didn't see any Martians nor wildflowers. Just stunning vistas in all directions. An amazing ride destination.

This is how the mini-group ride actually began Saturday morning. It had been raining from Thursday afternoon when I arrived untill the gang showed up early Friday evening. Three of us went for a short ride in the dark Friday night seeking better cell reception so while fun doesn't really count. Fun begins when we leave camp the next morning and boogie on eventually to the singletrack. Since he had not ridden this trail before we had Boarder255 lead & get to break the rain cleansed crust. Fun laying down the first tracks.

Evan brought his dog Jazzy for our entertainment. sweetwater jazzy.jpg

Scenic aspen lined grassy meadows could be found around 8,000 feet. sweetwater aspens .jpg

All that grass meant lots of gophers so we saw our share of what I guess were red tail hawks hunting them. sweetwater hawk.jpg

Yep, going camping and riding with motorcycle forum friends is hard to beat.

More awesomeness. What movie editor are you using now? It looks different/better than before.

On a side note, I can't figure out why some of my video's posted to the ytube are getting pixelated. I've seen another guy recently post about his problems as well so not sure if it's a computer/editor software issue or ytube hates us now!

I use Apple's free iMovie editor. For some reason either editing or Contour camera lacks the ropey, pixilated or blurry-that eventually-comes-into-focus issues I have noticed in some of Admiral's recent but otherwise impressive videos.

My biggest issue is keeping the lens clean while out on the trail. ;)

Then once back at camp something or the other distracts me and the lens doesn't get cleaned. sweet sunset1.jpg

Somehow I just couldn't load up and take off when everyone else headed home. So I stayed over another day and rode many a mile splashing through various sweet water features and scattering butterflies. Here is a quick lil' video to enjoy on a hot day. Picked some upbeat music that sort of matches the 5 upshifts around the 40 second mark. Really enjoying the brisk acceleration afforded by Betty Boop's low 13x55 gearing coupled with the 223cc 6-speed motor that helps get that heavy ATV tire a-spinnin'. :D

Friday Sept. 6th through Sunday the 8th has been proposed by these same working stiffs who have only the weekends off.
Next is likely some Fall Color theme in the eastern Sierra aspen lined canyons, maybe the above location again...Bring Admiral and Lori.
Was thinking at the time that the single track and twin tracks where enveloped by aspens look pretty spectacular in October. tunnel.jpg
Adam and Dale are in the same caliber of riding proficiency as you, they just lack some of the wisdom gleaned over the years we older farts have.:p
Not to say we are in our sunset years, just more experienced crashing. View attachment 196110
