So, this "new" documentary is making the rounds on the Facebook machine:

A little research, and it looks like the movie has been a long time in the making. Here's a longer version of the trailer from 2009:

I've seen plenty of bits and pieces of videos of stuff like this, but looking into it, it seems like it's becoming a bigger problem around the country.

Seems cops have instituted a "no chase" policy in Baltimore, which is a thief's dream if you ask me.

Not only can they ride as illegally as they want to, but they can ride stolen bikes and not ever expect to get caught.

A little research shows a lot of talk on the web about bike thefts in B-more...

Not to mention any illegal activity or accidents you cause while being an idiot can be brushed off as you flee the scene untouched.

http://weblogs.baltimoresun.com/news/crime/blog/2010/06/dirt_bike_crash.html

"A 44-year-old motorcyclist from Greenbelt was killed Sunday after he crashed into a pole at Gilmor and Fayette streets when he lost control swerving to avoid a dirt bike whose operator was carrying a 2-year-old child."

I just don't see how cops haven't cracked down on this mess.

This is the tail wagging the dog, if I've ever seen it.

It's now glorified as some kind of after school special for kids, helmets be damned.

I don't know what the ultimate endgame is in this disaster, but something has to happen soon.

I don't want my rights eventually jacked up, or my bike looked at as a menace, cause of idiots like this.

I thought I avoided that by not buying a sportbike, lol...

(At least I haven't seen a TW in any of these vids)

I love the idea of it. I love the hooliganism, and the sumo's, and the stuff that they do, but the fact that they are causing accidents, riding in dangerously large numbers, carrying kids on a regular basis, and not wearing ANY equipment really makes me upset.

Seeing squids hurt themselves is funny. Seeing them hurt others is just sad.

Yeah Baltimore pretty much sucks!

(I am actually moving to CO after 13 years in the city)

I have seen gangs (10-30 bikes etc) of kids riding through traffic and on sidewalks, the cops don't do a thing. You are right, the police actually are not allowed to chase people on bikes because of the additional hazard.

Where to begin. Baltimore has changed so much since I lived there 50 years ago. On the other hand, the citizens still look like the president. Who would have thunk it. Do they still have Blue Crabs?

First, I have to agree with the no pursuit policy. In my opinion, police should not chase any vehicle for any reason. No pursuit is worth risking the life of innocent bystanders. The only exception would be when the suspect is running down or shooting bystanders. Alternatively, if an officer lights you up and you run, the book should be thrown at you for resisting, reckless endangerment and so forth. With dash cams and what not, it is pretty easy nowadays to identify the person and arrest them at their apartment later on. Where is a drone when you need one.

Secondly, there is a lawlessness to this that goes beyond youthful hi-jinks, a racially tinged element of terror akin to the flash mobs in Chicago. Would anyone care to hazard a guess as to the ethnicity of the driver pulled from his car and beaten after the traffic accident? But I could be wrong, I often am.

And I thought I was a rebel when I was riding my Schwinn cruiser through the construction area on Dundalk Avenue in 1960.

I would be inclined to agree with Mad Mac. I certainly don't think we should coddle law breakers, but speeding through the city to catch a guy on a $1200 stolen motorcycle or some such offense poses far to much risk to others.

I met a fellow many years ago who made a living giving golf lessons of all things. His life was turned upside down when a police car T-boned him during a high speed chase. Seems his legal recourse back then offered very little. He lost his house and his family situation degenerated with his 'health'.

The Wife and I sometimes watch "COPS". We are frequently amazed at the dynamics involved in a high-speed chase. An officer spots a car with expired tags. The car is followed for a few miles then the officer turns on his lights, and the chase is on..... Turns out the guy has an expired license and a couple of 'rocks' in the car. In my opinion, no-ones life should be put in jeopardy for stuff like this, there are lots of other ways to reel-in the looser's.. Suspect drones will be used more and more in the future. Gerry

Baltimore has had a problem with ghetto bikers for years. Nothing new there. Baltimore has also had a problem with a pussified police administration for years. Nothing new there, either. The officers on the street are caught in the middle. I say a few officers stepping out from behind parked cars with baseball bats and taking off a few heads would help, but, hey, what do I know? Maybe run a few down with police cars? After all, no question about guilt when caught in the act by a dash cam.

If you’re inclined to think our society is headed in a good direction you better not read further. Old fart rant follows:

There is so much wrong here. Total disregard for laws & consequences of their invasions of citizen’s rights they come in contact with. Who pays the bill when they get hurt? Where do they get the money to buy their machines…if they actually buy them? Think they’re paying part of their “hard earned wages” for insurance? For that matter who pays for their very existence? I’ll bet most are living on taxpayer’s (my) dime. This is what we get for our investment? Thanks a lot Washington!?!

This HAS to change but if or when it does, watch out. Their culture has absolutely no regard for yours or my rights and they WILL take anything they want if the “man” doesn’t provide it. Agree with Qwerty…..2[sup]nd[/sup] amendment….and I’m dead serious.

If their claim that it’s just recreation is to believed then give them a runway on a closed airport or another slab of concrete and just let them recreate and bust their asses. But that wouldn’t be any fun would it? Can’t get a rush by terrorizing law abiding citizens and flaunting your stuff in front of cops at an empty airport can you?

BWAAHAAHAAHAAHA!!!!

The powers that be would love to referree a race war, and if it starts that way, it won't stay that way for long. Way more pink people willing to kill to keep their welfare than not-pink people. The bourgeoisie will hire the pinkies to protect the working class, "working class" defined as those (mostly overfed and underexercised)who actually work and pay taxes whatever their skin color, and the working class will gladly pay dearly for such pricey protection.

Race war? It will look so on CSNBC, because the combatants will be white vs. non-white, but the real battle will be the elected vs. the electors.
