Here is the deal.

After years of getting emails from TW200 forum members, Gold Plug has our first TW200 magnetic drain plug. Thanks Ken N and Carl....

www.Goldplug.com needs 5 - TW200 owners changing their oil in the next 2 weeks to try our new Gold Plug "Puck".

All we want in return is your honest evaluation and any ideas you have. This will be used to create the final product.

First 5 members that PM get this offer. We need oil changes in the next 2 weeks. Testers will be held to this. Please be prepared to send us photo's of the installation.

Thanks,

Tim

As the very hot engine oil seems to 'quickly' degrade the magnets, hope your design allows for magnet replacement instead of plug replacement. Just a thought based on my previous magnetic plug purchase (not from you folks). Gerry

Gerry,

No worries. We use a special magnet and there will be no degrade in strength. We have had them in some of our test vehicles for over 10 years.

I received my beta Gold Plug yesterday and will be installing it into Purple's TW today.

It's an insert, and fits into the cup portion of the drain plug. No drilling, tapping or epoxy required. It does not appear to be made of "Supermagnet" material but it does offer far more surface area than almost any homebrew solution. Should work well and hold a ton of crap.

I'll report back with my usual crappy pics once it's installed.

Got my plug this week. I'm hoping to change my oil this weekend and will do the installation and take some photos. The problem I see though is it could be a long while before I'll know just how this works. I've only been changing my oil about every six months (if that) as I don't ride that far that often. I'll be happy to report what I find then, just saying... it could be a while.
