With all my regular riding areas covered with snow and ice, I figured I'd head out to the sand dunes this past Saturday. I had the place all to myself from 8-10:30 and then five guys came in. I'm not big on riding in sand, but with some recent moisture, I thought I'd give it a go. I had a blast! My GoPro worked wonderfully, as did my new and never used off-road only front tire. I think I found my new winter riding area.

This was early in the day. I really don't like to jump, so I hit this dune pretty slow. I quickly found out I need to twist the throttle and hang on. The morse code you here is covering up a bad word I said.

This dune was a lot bigger. Again, not enough throttle. I tried this one again about a dozen times and made it up each time.

In the first part of the video, I got mad at myself for stopping on the trail when I saw this hill. I figured there was no way of making it up, but I did. The last part of the video is the big dune I got really stuck on.

I'm not too big on getting air, but I learned I needed more throttle to make it up the dunes. I was surprised to find out when I got home that I actually got some air!

I knew I would eventually fall and fall I did. No injuries or damage thankfully. The back tire slid, then my front tire slid, then my front hooked up, and down I went. I'm laughing because I just knew I'd fall and I finally did.

Yeah! I like your way of thinking; where there's a will, there's a way. Glad you got out for a ride, and especially glad you took us along. Thanks, I enjoyed the pictures and videos! Riding in the sand on two wheels definitely keeps you on your toes. I'm curious how much air pressure you were running in the tires? Maybe I'll have to get out and try our local sand dunes. Nice, well equipped bike. I'm an Apple fan, too.

Looks like fun! Wish I had dunes/beach closer. I do ride in a local creek which does have some sand/gravel. Its always the front tire sliding out when I fall. I just roll off bike and let go. Riding in sand will really improve ur riding skills!

Good stuff. You had all the elements covered: Swearing (w/Morse), but still funny imagining what you said, admitting that you fall (showing your human), jumping, and even instant replay. Oh, and laughing!

I had fun watching this one!
