Will be taking the "Black widow" up to Reno/sparks area for the weekend of March 22-23. Most likely be hauling it up (in back of pickup) over the hill Friday night and heading back home Monday. Fred? Scott? any interest in a group ride either (or both) of those days? Gf will be playing bingo with friends in a local Casino so bringing the TW for some fun riding while she wins big. Will keep on eye on weather as we get closer and decide where and when to meet.

A ride or two that weekend sounds great! Count me in. Do you prefer singletrack, cruising forest roads, a mix?

a mix is fine. see what kind of snow we can get thru...lol. Rode mostly fireroads and some pavement last time so more single track would be fun.

Sounds like a plan. I'm sure we can come up with a satisfying mix of terrain. Snow should still lurk in shadows and north slopes at higher elevations, like the passes you traversed on your way to Stampede Resivoir last Sept(?). Sandy roads and trails abound on Nevada side. Singletrack? Carefull what you ask you. Many easy to difficult trails scenic enough for a gopro video.

Sorry I posted this in wrong area, wanted in Off Topic to start a tread where we can share pretty pics of sky, nature , misc eye candy not related to our TW's. Just got too excited wanting to post from semi-smart phone.Guess I am just a semi-smart operator.

Fred, I rode with Scutler back in Nov of last year in your area so texted him to see if he wanted to go on our ride. He has family for weekend so doesn't sound like he can make it but maybe after a full day with family he'll change his mind and want to ride sunday.....:)

Fred's/Phil's/Adam's/Mike's excellent adventure.

Started ride on some single track with no a lot of room for error (steep dropoff). Had a fun time in about every kind of terrain. Even rode thru snow (forgot to get pics). Really had a fun time and was exhausted when got back to hotel. The quartz mine was our lunch spot (what was the mine called fred?) Here is some pics I took.

This hill look familiar Fred?

It was really nice meeting the two of you. A great day of riding it was. I even rode on some new trails, which surprised me quite a bit! I hope you can get up here again, Evan. Crystal Peak is the mine we visited. Say, I'm sorry if I forgot to ask, would you be interested in a Rubicon journey within the upcoming months?

I enjoyed our ride together alot around Peavine and Crystal Peak.
With this years light snowpack a Rubicon trip might be attempted earlier. Maybe a group ride centered around Loon Lake so as to start at lower elevation with easy trails and roads locally; plus more adventurous day in and out forays to Rubicon Springs for the granite lovers.I am up for it, you guys all had the skills and equipment neccesary. Good kayaking, fishing, atv riding , mtn bike riding also in the area. Drag out all the toys!
