I got my endorsement on Tuesday this week and tonight I broke 100 miles on my TW (first bike). I am totally in love. Thank you everyone in the forums for all the great information. Having a community like this makes it riding so much better.

Glad to hear you are having fun!....still getting aquainted to mine?........will take some time getting use to the HIGH rpm ranges....at 40ish mine sounds like it's going to explode...hahaha.

It's air cooled with an overhead cam with mechanical tappets. If it was water cooled with overhead valves and hydraulic tappets it would sound like a sewing machine. It can be a bit unnerving at first. Best thing to do is put it in 4th gear and wind it to redline. Get over it.

Its my first bike so I'm just getting used to a lot of things. I start getting nervous at around 45. I did get up to 57 yesterday on a straight stretch and nothing bad happened

lol so far I hit 58mph but I think I could get 65 without too much effort. The wind is kinda freaking me out right now and preventing me for attempting faster.
