Im looking to buy a used TW on sunday. Anyone have a few pointers on what to look for?

It needs a set of keys and a battery. Is there any way i could pop start it?

Any pointers would be awesome!
If it is 2000 or earlier, it will have a kicker. Any year, you should be able to bump start it if you are able to turn the ignition on. If you don't have a key and can't turn the ignition on, I am afraid that I can't offer any further help.

How long has it been sitting? How much are they asking? What year?

If it has been sitting a while, smell the gas tank -- take the cap off and get a good whiff -- if it smells like shellac the price goes down. Tank and carb will need major cleaning.

Look for oil leaks around the cylinder base gasket and valve covers and under the engine / on top of the skid plate. If you find any the price goes down.

Look at the chain -- if rusty and stiff the price goes down.

Do the tires have rubber on them and do they hold air?

Etc, etc,

Good luck and post what happens.
