what weight are you using in what climate?

I would like further information on Rotella before switching to it. Just not sure what the right one for me would be.

I have tried to search, but i don't want a sort threw all the arguments.

Thank you,

Daniel

I'm using 6T 5w40 for the winter. No problems, the clutch feels a little different, I had been using Ymalube 20w40 iin the warmer weather.

I have used Rotella in bikes but not the TW. I do know that synthetic makes a huge difference in clutch performance however.

I haven't switched the TW over to T6 yet, but it's running in the Versys. I'm thinking I'll switch over to it when I change the oil in a couple of weeks and see if I notice any difference.

Is it true that if you use the right weight oil the brand does not matter ? I mean if it's a reputable brand?

yup...page 8-1 in the specs section of the owners manual says 10w30 or 20w40 http://tw200forum.com/forum/technical-write-ups/70-service-repair-manuals.html ...i run mobil 1 4t full synthetic 10w40 year-round in all my bikes and have noticed a difference in shifting smoothness for the better once i switched from dino to synthetic...but really oil is oil...there are a ton of "which oil?" threads on here if you poke around a bit...i would say use whatever brand motorcycle oil is readily available in your area...i mean the TW only takes 1L anyway so it's not like you are going to save a ton of money between brands on 1 bottle

My klr has 30k miles using rotella t. The tdub uses it as well, but the bike is new to me. I just got some T6 for this winter, but haven't changed it yet.

Only takes a quart. I change it often. 10w30 when cold and 10w40 when hot. House oil to AmsOil, I use it all as long as it's clean. When asked what oil I use, Usually just say, "snake oil".

I used both 15w40 and the 5w40 t6 in my old tw with no problems. I run rotella in all my atvs and my scooter. No problems. I know aa few guys I ride with "klr's" that have been using 15w40 forever and most of them have 40-60,000 on their bikes. In my newer tw I have used nothing but 10w40 4t mobil.
