Ronhbr, have not made it completely through your adventure, but it sure brought back memories. Seems stuff like this needs to be done sooner than later. Suspect when ever you venture out, it will always be something of a memory. Thanks again, and I will keep reading as I have 'dreamed' of filling in between Canada and Mexico. Gerry

I too enjoyed viewing a major part of the northern section. Vicarious trips are better than no trips at all. Gerry, does your post mean you have ridden section of this route. I've had my eye on the NM section, but to date have done only parts of that in a 4x4. The TW would be a kick but only with an accomplice who I trusted and enjoyed spending time with. Time is running out. The older I get the longer this ride looks to be. Tom

I enjoyed reading about your adventure and the pictures were beautiful. This summer my hubby is retiring and will be doing the ride he has always dreamed of. The continental divide I just wish I could ride it with him. I know he will have the adventure of his life. Thanks for sharing.

Tom, as I have done Oakland, Ca. to Boston, Ma. and the Baja peninsula a Canada to Mexico adventure would round things out nicely. I have thought about such a trip for many years, but kind of figured it would be something I would walk, as I really like walking. At this point in my life, a TW trip makes more sense. Gerry

If the world is a book, the man who has never traveled has only read one page. You my friend, and many of our associates here are "well read". Even those of us who just look at the pictures are learning things. Cheers, and congratulations to the folks that rode this Canada to Mexico route. I'm envious. Tom

I started doing part of the trail and another trail a few years ago, ended at the start in a bad way.

Come this June I plan to do part or all of the NM part, just in the blood and all. I would like to do more of the trail if not the whole trail in 2013. I am retiring this year come June, but I have other trips planned for the summer\Fall of this year. I will be doing a 14niner – Windom Peak, around 100 miles Plus backpacking the San Juans in Colorado in July and then a trip to Pickle Gulch in Colorado in September but I will use the HD not the TW on that trip.

I did the northern half of the Continental Divide Ride a couple of years ago. Unfortunately it wasn't on the TW, or even on a bike though. We went from the Canadian border to where the trail crosses I-70 before I ran out of time and money. Very beautiful, and very worthwhile as you've seen from the ride report. I look forward to picking up the southern half one of these days. Thanks for sharing the report, Ron.
