What is the best brand name for a carb kit for my 1992. Every time it sits for a few weeks it never gets any fuel when i try to start it and I check the spark plug for fuel, so I usually shut the fuel off, take off the inlet line to the carb and blow some compressed air into the carb to push the float needle back down and then it starts right up every time. I have taken this carb apart and cleaned it but only worked for 1 ride. The 2006 that I have never starts when i fully choked it and floods very easy, it needs alot of cranking to get it going to clear the gas out. They both work great once I get them going.

Edit: There are carb repair kits on eBay for both the newer CV carb and the older slide carb. See post below.

You can buy OEM parts from online vendors, but it helps if you know what parts you really need, instead of buying everything on the parts fische.

ProCylcle has a jet kit, but I don't believe the jet sizes correspond to the stock TK ones.

Your 2006 is now 9 years old. depending on the mileage, it can have worn parts.

If you are not the original owner, there's no telling what has been done to the carb previously.

You said you have cleaned it...but if you didn't soak it and blow out all the internal passageways, it is not really clean.

The most common problem for a bike that has been sitting is a clogged pilot jet/pilot jet circuit.

(I just finished cleaning my 2005 TW carb...again.) :(

Gerald, the more I thought about it, I didn't provide much help.

Troubleshooting carbs without seeing them is like shooting in the dark.

I only use oem parts, but then I usually know what the problem is, and know which part to order (but not always).

Here's an eBay kit that from the photo appears to use real Yamaha parts. If it is, it's a bargain at $32 U.S. And free shipping. It says "worldwide" shipping...that should cover Canada, eh!

01 11 TW200 Carburetor Carb Kit Made in Japan | eBay

I ordered one myself on the chance they are genuine Yamaha parts. I can always use spares.

I will report back when I receive the kit.

If you have photos of the inside of your carb, there are others on the forum that can try to assist you.

Edit: Here's the one for your 1992, although from a different vendor, and doesn't say Made in Japan.

From the photos it looks to be original parts, but cannot verify.

Looks like Gerald is lost in the Saskatchewan wilderness.

Here's the Shindy kit from eBay.

The parts are identical to the OEM parts I have on hand.

This is for the 2001 and newer CV carbs. The kit for the older carb is similar with parts identical to OEM parts.

As of 6-7-15, the same parts cost:

Rocky Mtn ATV: $83.94 U.S. plus $7.00 shipping
Partzilla: $78.51 U.S. plus $8.95 shipping

Assuming you actually need all the parts, the eBay price is a bargain.

Considering the cost, the Chinese Mikuni clone carb may be the way to go.

Mounting the carb is mostly solved.

The throttle and throttle cable are not yet "plug and play", but can be "made" to work with some handiwork.
