Pulled the carb to clean it and found one of the float mounting posts had the top half broken off and missing. This is where the pin goes through. I ordered a used carb on eBay and pulled it appart last night and found the exact same thing. Is this a common problem? How can I fix it without buying another 3rd carb. Is there a material like JB weld or similar that can withstand the fuel bowl? Honestly it seemed to function fine with only one side. What's your thoughts. I really can't afford to drop $2-300 on a 3rd carb. Especially for a new project as i just recently purchased this 94 rainbow warrior and am giving it a refurb.

I just used the search and am seeing this is pretty common. I'll pickup some JB weld and try and see if I can pin this thing back together

If your handy a pin helps to hold that sucker on one. I've only had limited
success. How ever theres a thread here somewhere on a replacement carb
for less than 50. Might even be an upgrade.

This is pretty common when people do not follow the proper procedure for removing the pin.

I found a missing post in a used TW that I bought after I took the carb apart for cleaning (the previous owner broke the post off, removed the broken section, put the carb back together and never bothered to mention it). However, even with a post missing on one side, the post on the other side still holds the pin in place and everything works fine. After a few years it's still truckin' along with just one post.
