Hello folks. I am a new user here and new to TWs. I have determined my cdi is faulty and need to buy a new or used one. Mine is a 1995 and I would need shipping to eastern Canada.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Almost any Yamaha parts distributor online can help you! I'd went ahead and looked it up for you, it looks to be $266 and is listed as part number '5' on this list (part number 2YG-85540-M0-00). Check it out and if you have a local Yamaha dealer, you can just take them that part number!

Thanks a lot for looking that up. I was thinking of buying used but that's probably not a great idea for a cdi. It seems like this is a weak point on these bikes.

I heard they are fairly reliable after '87, but, like anything else man-made, it can break. I'd agree on the CDI though, better to buy new. Otherwise you're gonna be replacing it later. Best of luck and welcome to the forum.
